Newsflash:
  • Prescription Turn-In Program
  • DO YOU QUALIFY FOR A $300 SEWER CREDIT?

Welcome to The City of Avon Lake

The city of Avon Lake has a history of hard working farmers scratching out a living from a heavy clay soil.  Grape vineyards lined the dirt paths, the same byways that now serve as main arteries with names like Walker, Lear, Miller and Moore.

Today, Avon Lake is home to vibrant neighborhoods, industry and commercial activity.  Please join us on the shores of Lake Erie for a beautiful sunset as the day melts into dusk and a calm comes over all who witness it.  And stay for our restaurants and shop at our local businesses.  You’ll be happy you did.

Prescription Turn-In Program

The  Lorain County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force, in partnership with the Avon Lake Police Department, will be holding a prescription turn-in day on Saturday, April 28th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Avon Lake Police Department, 32855 Walker Road.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to dispose of outdated or no longer needed medications.  This program helps keep medication out of the water supply and away from unintended users.

No personal information will be asked.  Please remove all prescription labels.

Medications will be kept by law enforcement officers until their disposal.

Please contact Detective Gregg Mehling with the Lorain County Sheriff's Office at (440) 668-0225 with any questions.
