The Avon Lake Fire Department and Avon Lake Municipal Utilities will be conducting their annual safety inspection of the city's fire hydrants from April 29 until September 30. Residents' water may become discolored during the inspection, but should clear up after 3-5 minutes of running it. (If water does not clear in that time, call ALMU 24/7 at 440-933-6226). Residents should use only clear water when laundering clothes.

Property owners with in-ground sprinkling systems must have backflow prevention devices tested and copies of the test results filed at Avon Lake Municipal Utilities by May 25, 2013. Failure to comply can result in the water being shut off and a standard turn-on fee applied. We can email you a list of certified testers or you can pick one up at the office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
