Block Party Information

block-party3The Avon Lake Service Department needs at least five (5) days notice that a resident would like to reserve barricades for closing a street while having a block party.

The Service Department will drop off the requested barricades the Friday afternoon before the party is scheduled.  They will be placed near the driveway out of the right-of-way.  The resident will need to return the barricades to this spot by Monday morning following the block party for pick up.

The resident is responsible for placing the barricades at the location(s) and time they designated on the request form.

Required information needed to request a street closing and barricades for a block party is:

  • Name, address and phone number of the resident receiving the barricades.
  • The date, time (start and end) and rain date if available
  • The road to be blocked off with barricades (i.e.,  between 123  and  223 Avon Lake Rd or Avon Lake Rd  between Lake Rd and Electric Blvd or Cul-de-Sac Rd at Lake Rd).
  • The number of barricades needed.

This information is necessary to notify the Police and Fire Departments that a road or section of road will be closed.

Have a safe and fun Block Party.

PLEASE CALL 440.930.4126 TO REQUEST BARRICADES.
