• City Council

The Avon Lake City Council is the legislative body of the City, consisting of four ward councilpersons and three at-large councilpersons. Council enacts the laws of the City, introduces and passes ordinances and resolutions, and has various responsibilities according the Avon Lake Charter, the Avon Lake Codified Ordinances, and Ohio State law.

Council and Collective Committee Agendas and Regular Council Meeting Minutes are posted on the City website. The Agendas and Council Meeting Minutes are all available to view or download in Microsoft word format.

Council Meetings
Regular Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 P.M., with the exception of the months on July and August, when Council meets on the second Monday of July and the fourth Monday of August.

Committee Meetings
Collective Committee meetings are held at 7:30 P.M. on the first and third Monday of each month, if needed. The purpose of the Collective Committee meeting is to exchange information, review Council Committee items, and formulate the Regular Council Meeting Agenda. All Council and Collective Committee Meetings are open to the public and audience participation is permitted according to Council Rules. Meetings are broadcast live on Channel 12, the Avon Lake Cable Access Channel.
