The Avon Lake Parks & Recreation Department provides the citizens of Avon Lake with high quality parkland, as well as, extensive programming opportunities.

Each of the city’s 14 parks is fully special and unique, yet they all seem familiar and comfortable.  Well thought-out and cared-for walkways, benches, and/or gardens wind through and connect the best features of each park.  While some parks are big, others are just a ‘pocket’ of land that offers a chance to show our best features and attractions, or to provide a respite of greenspace for programming...or just relaxing.

Dozens of topics fill the times and spaces.  Hundreds of programs fill the schedule.  Thousands of participants are filled with satisfaction, and inspiration, and more!

While it is cliché to say that our programming has something for everyone, it is still our mission.  Through evaluations, surveys, and just plain keeping in touch, we develop programming that the citizens want.  This pushes us beyond the envelope of simple sports and leisure programs, and activities just for seniors or preschoolers.  It allows us to explore the capabilities of our staff, parks, facilities, and resources.  It keeps us new, fresh, and ahead of the status quo.  We steer your department, and we are excited to do so. 

So, please let us know what you are looking for.  While we may not be able to actually do everything for everyone, we still want to try!
