This week on Public Access, ALCTV’s Community Club Corner features the Avon Lake Kiwanis Club meeting of March 9, 2017. On Heritage Avon Lake’s “Exploring History Today,” Eric Johnson talks with author Jared Smith. Mr. Smith’s book, “Lorain County’s Poorhouse,” features the history of the poorhouse of Lorain County, which was a tax-supported residential facility where people would go if they could not support themselves.

This week on Government Access, Avon Lake Regional Water presents “Top Consumer Questions about Drinking Water.” This video sets out to test and improve consumers’ knowledge of drinking water with timely information, humor and compelling statistics. An informed public and customer service response team are two of a utility’s most important assets. Informed consumers are better customers and smarter conservationists. Avon Lake Regional Water’s Chief Utilities Officer, Todd Danielson, reviews the events of the Avon Lake Board of Municipal Utilities meeting held on March 21, 2017. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration presents “The Road to Recovery.” Experience the many successes of the 2016 National Recovery Month observance, and start preparing for the 2017 celebration in your community. The National Recovery Month theme for 2017 is “Join the Voices for Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities!” In 2017, we will encourage communities across the nation to include people and families in recovery and hear inspiring stories of how they have been welcomed in and contributed to their communities.
