This week on Public Access, ALCTV’s Community Club Corner features the Avon Lake Kiwanis Club meeting of September 8, 2016. On “Out & About,” Barb and Andre explore Historic Lyme Village in Bellevue, Ohio. Historic Lyme Village, which is operated by the volunteers of the Historic Lyme Village Association, depicts life in the Firelands from the arrival of the first settlers in the early 1800s to the early 1900s. On “Exploring History Today,” learn about the 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry of Sheffield Lake. The 103rd O.V.I. celebrates the lives and service of Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Medina County soldiers serving the 103rd regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. It is the oldest Civil War organization composed of direct descendants that continues to meet annually.

This week on Government Access, Avon Lake Regional Water presents “A Consumer’s Guide to Water Conservation.” See numerous conservation tips that can immediately be put to use both indoors and outdoors. It offers conservation suggestions for the kitchen, bath and laundry, plus lawn watering tips, Xeriscaping, leak detection and much more. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration present “The Road to Recovery.” This episode will talk about the recent trends in prescription opioid misuse and heroin use, opioid use disorders, efforts to reduce the distribution and use of heroin, and prevention/treatment efforts for people with opioid use disorder.
