Pottery by the Lake for All Ages!

Join us for a 6-week artistic adventure into pottery. Students will leave class learning new skills or honing in old ones. Registration includes all supplies and each student will end their 6-week session will 3 completed projects to take home or gift to others (just in time for the holidays)!

When: Mondays, November 7 - December 12. See below for times.

Pottery by the Lake: Adults (age 16 and up) 
Mondays 6:30-8:30pm

Students will learn the basics of handbuilding, while making pieces that they can use or give as a gift. Projects will be: a berry bowl, mug and a nature inspired dish. Registration fee includes all supplies.

Students will learn how to:
-Mend & attach pieces properly
-Construct using forms
-Construct a handle and proper attachment
-Finish pieces using glazing techniques
-Use nature integrated in surface design
-Gauge the drying process

Cost: $130 resident/ $140 nonresident

Mommy & Me Pottery: Ages 3-6
Mondays 10:00-10:45am

Each week students will begin class with a story to inspire. They will follow up with a project based on the theme, using clay and various textures. Registration fee includes all supplies.

After class, students will be able to:
-Knead air bubbles from clay
-Have an understanding of how to manipulate clay, using various textures & smoothing techniques
-Form clay into 3 dimensional pieces, using the pinch method
-Transfer literature inspiration to artwork

Cost: $110 resident/ $120 nonresident

Using Nature in Pottery: Ages 11-15
Mondays 3:40-4:40pm

Students will learn the basics of handbuilding with clay. They will experiment with various objects found in nature to create a bowl, vase and plaque. Registration fee includes all supplies.

Students will develop skills needed to demonstrate proper procedures such as:
-Joining clay parts, using slip & score
-Create forms, using the three main building techniques: slab, coil & pinch
-Finish pieces, using glazes

Cost: $110 resident/ $120 nonresident

Inspirational Pottery & Sculpture: Ages 6-10
Mondays 5:00pm-6:00pm

Students will learn the fundamentals of handbuilding with clay, covering the three main techniques: coil, slab & pinch. Student artists will create 3 pieces based on their interests, nature and inspiration! Take home pieces will be a dish, bowl and a sculpture of choice.Registration fee includes all supplies.

Students will develop skills needed to demonstrate proper procedures such as:
-Joining clay parts using slip & score
-Create forms using the 3 main building techniques: slab, coil & pinch
-Finishing pieces using glaze
