Hazardous Waste

The proper disposal of household hazardous waste, such as paint, solvents, cleaning solutions, medications, fluorescent light bulbs, oil, and tires is essential for a healthy environment.
 
The Lorain County Solid Waste Management District will properly dispose of these and other items, free of charge, and in an environmentally appropriate manner.
 
Lorain County residents are instructed to drop off any household hazardous waste at the Lorain County Collection Center, 540 S. Abbe Road, Elyria.
 
The Center is open Mondays and Wednesdays 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.; Saturdays 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
