Lake's Official Web site. We encourage all visitors to take a tour through
our web site. The City of Avon Lake, located in Northern Ohio between Cleveland
and Lorain, and is part of Lorain County. The geographical limits of this
community are formed by Lake Erie to the North and lies right off the shores
of Lake Erie. The population in this community is approximately 20,224. Its land area is roughly 12 (11.64) square miles.
Avon Lake residents can really enjoy what this community has to offer with
all the recreational activities available. This community is made up of
public beaches, community and neighborhood parks, 20 miles of bike trails,
boat launch, and many other recreational activities. Avon Lake's park systems
are made up of 220 acres of parks and playgrounds that will keep any family
entertained. Other activities in Avon Lake include 
our municipal swimming pool, golf courses, swim club, tennis courts, outdoor
ice rink, youth sports, and adult sports. Located only 15 miles west of
Cleveland, Avon Lake residents have convenient access to museums, Indians
and Browns games, the world famous Cleveland Orchestra and the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame.
Senior citizens and Teens can find a wide array of activities and support in Avon Lake. The Avon Lake Teen/Senior Center is very dedicated to providing Senior citizens and Teens with many activities that they and their families can enjoy. Lorain County Transit offers Community Connector to any resident of Avon Lake. Lorain County Transit offers at your door service upon request to locations in the Avon and Avon Lake area.
Avon Lake is a highly educated, professional community with a quality school system which makes it one of the more attractive communities in the Lorain/ Elyria metropolitan area.
