Avon Lake Women's Chorus
The Avon Lake Women's Chorus is a volunteer non-profit organization that prepares Winter Holiday and Spring programs. We entertain residents of Assisted Living / Extended Care facilities and local group gatherings in Lorain County and western Cuyahoga County.
Under the direction of Ms. Jenny Zapfe; our repertoire features an upbeat selections of Christmas holiday music, show tunes, old-time favorites, pop melodies, traditional, whimsical and gospel music.
Sopranos, Altos, Lady Tenors are Welcome!
Auditions are not required, however, choral music experience and the ability to read music is helpful. You do not have to be a resident of Avon Lake to join the fun.
We begin each week with rehearsal on Monday mornings at 9:30am at the Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd., just west of SR 83. (No rehearsals June through August).

Keep Singing - It's Good for You!
A High Not For Happiness.
"British researchers surveyed 375 people who sang in a choir, sang alone, or played on a sports teams. All the activities contributed to greater emotional well-being, but people in choirs reported feeling happier than those who belted out tunes solo. Chorus members also rated their choirs as more meaningful social groups than athletes did their sports teams. The physical synchrony - acting in time with others - of choral signing could promote feelings of unity." ~New from the Wold of Medicine, Readers Digest, April 2014
