The main purpose of the Service Department is to keep the City of Avon Lake clean, safe and fun by maintaining the streets, right-of-ways, storm water system, traffic control signs and lights.  The Department also maintains City-owned property, buildings and parks.

Local Utilities:

Avon Lake Municipal Utilities is the water and sewer service provider for Loain County that includes a water filtration plant, water pollution control center and distribution and collection system. 

Century Link provides local, long distance, internet and data services in 22 states. 

Columbia Gas of Ohio is the supplier of natural gas to more than 1,000 communities in Ohio.  Includes customer service and gas choice program information. 

FirstEnergy Corp. (The Illuminating Company)  is the central site for Ohio Edison, Illuminating Company, Toledo Edison, and Penn Power.  Bill pay, customer service, new and disconnect service.

Republic Services (f/k/a Allied Waste) provides collection, recycling and disposal services to residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout the United States.
