Planting Street Trees

Tree Commission
The Tree Commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month at the Old Fire House at 7:30 p.m. Residents are welcome to attend.
The ten-member Tree Commission consists of seven (7) Mayoral appointees, one (1) Council member, one (1) Utilities member, all of whom serve a three-year term. The tenth member is the Service Director/Municipal Arborist whose term does not expire.
Planting A Street Tree
The Tree Commission has put together a no fee informational street tree planting permit. This includes the CALL BEFORE YOU DIG phone number for public utilities locations, a list of recommended trees to plant and clearance distances for the planting site.
Residents interested in planting street trees need to fill out the NO FEE – Street tree planting permit and call the Service Department at (440) 930-4126 before planting the tree. When the planting location is staked, call the Service Department to schedule an inspection of planting site. The front/information request page needs to be completed prior to planting and forwarded to the Service Department.
