The Civil Service Commission of the City of Avon Lake shall hold an examination for the purpose of creating an eligibility list for original appointment to the position of Firefighter/Paramedic in the Avon Lake Fire Department.

Beginning salary as of July 1, 2022 - $63,143.34 annually plus comprehensive benefits.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications are available on-line or in-person during business hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at the Avon Lake Municipal Building, 150 Avon Belden Road, 1ST Floor, Avon Lake, Ohio, beginning Monday, February 6, 2023. All applications are due to the Civil Service Commission no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023. Only complete applications with pertinent documents will qualify for the test process. 

Minimum qualifications are in the application package available at 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio or online.

A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) non-refundable filing fee is due when filing the application. Said fee shall be in the form of cash or personal check payable to the City of Avon Lake.
