Brian Shifflet, a historical reenactor, presents his program “The Language of Flowers” at this month’s Avon-on-the-Lake Garden Club meeting of September 4th. The City Club of Cleveland’s “We Want to Do More than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching” features Bettina L. Love, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Educational Theory and Practice, University of Georgia. Dr. Love discusses how parents and communities can build communal, civically-engaged public schools rooted in social justice where all students thrive, not merely survive. Jackie-O talks with Mike Hammer about the upcoming 2019 Northeast Ohio Walk n' Roll to Cure Ataxia on “The Jackie-O Show.” Host Kathryn Eyring talks with David DiMauro, owner of the Avon Lake Shoe Repair, on “Aging Gracefully.”
