Mayor’s Column for May 17, 2017

Looking for a way to serve your community? Periodically, positions become available on various commissions. We are in immediate need for several people to serve on an independent, non-profit board called Friends of the Parks whose purpose is to determine where funds donated to the 501(c) 3 charitable group are distributed. The funds help to enhance Recreation Department programs, the Community Garden and entertainment for the Independence Day Celebration each July, and more. Please contact Mayor Greg Zilka if you are interested at 440-930-4100 or email me at By volunteering some of your time you would help to keep our community a great place to live.

This summer you can enjoy many new programs and activities through the Avon Lake Recreation Department. The summer kicks off June 10th at Weiss Field from 10am-9pm with cars, music, food, fun and more.
