Thank you for re-electing me Mayor of Avon Lake. I am honored to have been chosen to serve another term as your Mayor. I’m grateful and humbled by the support I’ve received the past eight years, and I pledge to continue to nurture a positive working relationship with City Council, the Avon Lake City Schools, and the
Avon Lake Public Library to make our community an even better place in which to live.
We will continue to work hard to broaden our economic base in order to maintain the efficient public services that you have come to expect. Expanded recreation and cultural programs are an important component of every great community and we are committed to focus on expanding those offerings to maintain the high quality of life Avon Lake residents enjoy.
Thank you again for your trust in me. I look forward to engaging with and empowering all who want to shape a bright future for Avon Lake.
Every November, Avon Lake coordinates a weeklong event to encourage residents to shop and dine at Avon Lake businesses. This year, SHOP LOCAL—SHOP AVON LAKE WEEK will be Friday, November 29 through Saturday, December
7. In addition to the marketing campaign to raise awareness of the special event, we are adding something extra. We are calling it SHOP LOCAL—WIN LOCAL. Here’s how it works: 1.) Local businesses donate gift certificates of $50 or more
toward the grand prize; 2.) During SHOP LOCAL—SHOP AVON LAKE WEEK, those businesses give raffle tickets to customers who purchase over $10; and 3.) On December 13, a drawing will be held and the winning raffle ticket holder will receive all the gift certificates. Good luck to all who participate!
And finally, the holiday season is upon us! Join us as we ring in the season with lights and cheer. The North Coast Christmas Kickoff is December 6 – 8 at Veterans Memorial Park. Help us welcome Santa as he arrives by fire truck at 6PM,
followed by the lighting of the park. Enjoy holiday jingles and complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. For a small donation, Santa will be available for visits and photos. Please visit AvonLake.org for more information and to purchasetickets to visit Santa.
