Applications are available on-line or in-person during business hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at the Avon Lake Municipal Building, 150 Avon Belden Road, 1ST Floor, Avon Lake, Ohio, beginning Monday, February 6, 2023. All applications are due to the Civil Service Commission no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023. Only complete applications with pertinent documents will qualify for the test process.
Minimum qualifications are in the application package available at 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio or online.
A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) non-refundable filing fee is due when filing the application. Said fee shall be in the form of cash or personal check payable to the City of Avon Lake.

A representative from the Cleveland area composting organization Rust Belt Riders discusses how to compost effectively, whether you do it yourself or through the city.
This program is part of a year-long environmental series, presented in partnership with the Avon Lake Public Library and Avon Lake’s Environmental Affairs Advisory Board (EAAB), that addresses the environmental concerns of Avon Lake's residents expressed via the EAAB survey. Each session focuses on a different topic presented by experts who will educate, as well as provide tools and resources for making an impact in our community.

The John T. Shook award pays tribute to a very special friend, and longtime CRS Board member who passed away in 2018. John touched the lives of so many people in our community, including those at CRS. He was dedicated to community service and volunteered for many local organizations including CRS, Avon Lake Kiwanis, St. Joseph Church and Beachpark Tower. In John’s memory, the CRS Board established an award in his name, to be given annually to an individual or group that embodies John’s commitment to volunteerism for CRS and in our community.
