No Parking on Hydrant Side of Street

On December 10, 2018, Avon Lake City Council approved Ordinance 452.03(r) that prohibits parking on the hydrant side of all Avon Lake streets. Residents are permitted to park on the tree lawn of the hydrant side as long as all four tires are off the street and the vehicle is parked a minimum of 10 feet from the fire hydrant. This is a safety issue, and ensures access for emergency vehicles and other large vehicles (garbage trucks, school buses, etc.).

The snow parking ban will be announced on social media by the City and Police Department as well as via local media outlets. The ban remains in effect until snow plowing has been sufficiently completed and the Safety Director declares the emergency is over. (Ordinance 452.12)
