City of Avon Lake Seeks Comments on Moore Road Resurfacing and Widening

The City of Avon Lake is proposing to resurface Moore Road from the City’s Southern Corporation Limit (the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks) to 300’ south of Walker Road, including pavement repairs, drainage improvements, and roadside restoration. The project also includes widening Moore Road from Pin Oak Parkway to 300’ south of Walker Road to provide for on-road bike lanes, and installing an 8’ wide sidewalk from 300’ south of Walker Road to Walker Road.  

The project will be constructed entirely within the public right-of-way. Traffic will be maintained during construction. Construction is expected to begin in April of 2022.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated June 6, 2018, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
