Members
The Communications and Technology Commission consists of seven (7) members who serve three (3) year terms, including five (5) members of the community appointed by City Council and the Mayor, one (1) Ex Officio, non-voting City Council representative, and one (1) Ex Officio, non-voting representative of Avon Lake City Schools.

Responsibilities
- Advising City Council regarding general policy relating to the operation and uses of access channels with a view toward maximizing the diversity of programs and services to viewers.
- Encouraging the use of access channels among the widest range of institutions, groups, and individuals within the City.
- Advising Council of changes in the state-of-the-art of cable technology and the applicability of the same to access channel programming for the system.
- Submitting reports to City Council, including, but not limited to, a summary of the utilization of access channels, a review of any plans submitted during the year by the grantee for the development of new services, and a summary report of deliberations throughout the year in connection with its assigned functions.
Meetings
Meetings of the Communications & Technology Commission are typically held the third Thursday of the month, a minimum of six (6) times a year, at 6:00 p.m. in the Communications & Technology Department located in the Lower Level of the Avon Lake Public Library.
