Alarm System Registration

Please be advised that according to Ordinance 1098.07 passed by Avon Lake City Council in February 1987, you are hereby required to obtain a permit for any alarm system connected directly or indirectly to the Avon Lake Police Department. This includes any alarm system / company that solicits a response from the Avon Lake Police Department.

Residential Alarm System Registration

The charge for a residential alarm permit is $10.00 and is good for as long as the permit holder owns the property the alarm system is located on.

Completed Residential Alarm System Registration forms should be mailed or dropped off with the payment to:

If an update is needed on the alarm registration, please download the form and return it to the Avon Lake Police Department. You may also email the updated for to records@avonlakepolice.org - please indicate that it is an update to an existing registration.

Using the link below, the Commercial Alarm System Registration will need to be renewed annually beginning January 1 - December 31.

The charge for a commercial permit is $25.00
