If you are selected for employment, you will be required to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. For certain positions, you may be required to undergo Civil Service testing and a pre-employment physical. Following any conditional offer of employment, you will be required to undergo drug testing.


Non-Civil Service Job Listings

The City of Avon Lake is seeking several seasonal workers for the upcoming fall season. This part time, temporary work, will include general landscaping work, leaf collection, trash and tree limb collection, restroom cleaning/maintenance and other duties as assigned. Students and those looking for a flexible work schedule are encouraged to apply.

Regular work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some weekend hours on occasion. Prior experience helpful but not required. State of Ohio valid drivers license required.

Rate of pay - $ 12 to $ 14 per hour (DPQ)

These positions, will report to the Assistant Director of Public Works and will be required to pass a background check and drug test. These positions will last for 90 working days (not calendar days) – continued employment through approximately December 31, 2020.
