Avon Lake to hold annual Big Trucks event on September 20
09/09/2025 – Avon Lake, Ohio – The City of Avon Lake will hold its annual Big Trucks event on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Avon Lake Safety Center located at 32855 Walker Road, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This free event will be held rain-or-shine. Visitors can explore the amazing vehicles and equipment used throughout the city and beyond.
“This family-friendly event is all about connecting the community with the people and tools that help keep the city running safely and smoothly,” said Avon Lake Mayor Mark Spaetzel. “Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to explore a variety of exciting vehicles and equipment, from fire trucks to military vehicles and medical transport aircraft. We will also have free health screenings, information booths to connect residents with a variety of area resources, food trucks, music, and a fun passport activity for kids. It’s going to be a great community event.”
Participating organizations include:
• The City of Avon Lake’s Fire, Police, and Public Works departments
• Lorain County Sheriff's Office and FBI Units
• Avon Lake Early Childhood PTA
• Representatives of Lorain County Public Health and regional hospitals
• Lake Erie Crushers
• Various local and county agencies
Free parking for this event will be available across the street from the Safety Center at Towne Center. Parking will not be available at the Safety Center during this event. Shuttle service from Towne Center will be available, and assistance will be provided for safely crossing Walker Road on foot.
