The Civil Service Commission of the City of Avon Lake will conduct a test for the purpose of creating an eligibility list for the position of Engineering Technical Aide I in the Avon Lake Public Works Department.

SALARY RANGE - $29.97/hour to $38.50/hour
plus comprehensive benefits, membership in the United Steelworkers Local 836, and coverage in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).

The selected applicant shall possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or an Associate’s degree in a related field with four (4) years’ experience in construction and/or infrastructure (water, sewer, storm water) related areas; experience and/or instruction in AutoCAD, drafting, surveying, or other related construction methods; or an equivalent and demonstrated combination of skills, training, and experience. Working knowledge of modern building/construction methods including any mandated by State of Ohio (NPDES Stormwater).  The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Applications are available on-line or in-person during business hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday) at the Avon Lake Municipal Building, 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio, beginning Monday, August 15, 2022. All applications are due to the Civil Service Commission no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022. Only complete applications with pertinent documents will qualify for the test process.

A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) non-refundable filing fee is due when filing the application. Said fee shall be in the form of cash or personal check payable to the City of Avon Lake.
