10/02/2025 – Avon Lake, Ohio - The Avon Lake Police Department (ALPD) in partnership with the Lorain County EMA is offering free Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Civilian Response and Casualty Care (CRCC) training courses. The CRCC course empowers ci vilians to provide life-saving medical aid before first responders arrive. It was designed and built upon the Avoid, Deny, Defend / Run, Hide, Fight strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, and provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.

This training opportunity is funded through state and federal grants, and there is no charge to par ticipate.

Individuals interested in scheduling a CRCC course for their company or organization may contact ALPD Detective Lieutenant Anthony Fabrizi at afabrizi@avonlakepolice.org.
