The City of Avon Lake welcomes Purple Warrior Thrift

10/09/2025 – Avon Lake, Ohio – The City of Avon Lake will hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of Purple Warrior Thrift Store located at 33686 Walker Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Purple Warrior Thrift Store offers large selection of women’s and men’s shirts, pants, blazers, coats, hoodies, dresses, shirts, shoes, children’s apparel, and accessories like jewelry and purses. The store also features a miscellaneous room where visitors will find housewares, small appliances, home decor, holiday decorations, toys, sporting goods, hardware, and other treasures.

“Our main goal is to raise funds for the fight against cancer,” said Purple Warrior owner and Avon Lake resident Jane Dietrich. “It’s a place where people can donate their unused items in support of an important cause. One hundred percent of the profits from our store will be donated to charitable organizations working to defeat cancer.”

“From a community development perspective, we are proud to support businesses with a social mission,” said City of Avon Lake Community Development Director Ted Esborn. “Purple Warrior is a great example of commerce with a conscience, and a testament to the incredible spirit of giving that exists within our community.”

“Purple ribbons symbolize support for the fight against cancer,” said Dietrich. “My family and friends have been hit hard by cancer, and everyone who fights cancer is a special warrior to me. It was only natural to me to name the store Purple Warrior.”

Dietrich envisions Purple Warrior’s Avon Lake location as the first of many. “I searched a long time for a location that was affordable and on a main road,” she said. “This store in Avon Lake is our first location. My dream is to have them all over the country someday.”
