Avon Lake to offer free fruit tree pruning class on February 12

01/19/2026 – Avon Lake, Ohio – The City of Avon Lake and the Avon Lake Tree Commission are sponsoring a free Fruit Tree Pruning Class conducted by Bartlett Tree Experts on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Old Firehouse Community Center located at 100 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012.

The class will begin with an indoor instructional session, followed by a hands-on outdoor demonstration. During the outdoor demonstration, certified arborists from Bartlett Tree Experts will prune the apple and peach trees located at the Old Firehouse.

Fruit tree pruning is crucial for boosting tree health, yield, and fruit quality. Pruning is recommended during the dormant season when wounds heal quickly with spring growth, and it is easier to see trees’ branch structure.
