The Civil Service Commission of the City of Avon Lake will conduct a competitive Police Officer lateral entry examination by interview of qualified candidates for the purpose of creating an eligibility list for original appointment to the position of Police Officer in the Avon Lake Police Department.

Applications and required minimum qualifications may be obtained ONLINE or for pickup at the Avon Lake Municipal Building, 150 Avon Belden Road, 1st Floor, Avon Lake, Ohio between 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. beginning Monday, August 28, 2023. All applications are due no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023.

A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) non-refundable filing fee is required when the application is returned. Said fee shall be in the form of cash or personal check payable to the City of Avon Lake.
