Marty O'Donnell Retires from Avon Lake City Council
Prior to September 3rd's Collective Committee Meeting (CCM), Council President Marty O’Donnell resigned from his position as the Council At-Large Representative,
Marty O’Donnell was elected on November 2, 2021, as Avon Lake Council At-Large Representative for a four-year term from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2025. Avon Lake City Council is soliciting letters of interest and resumes from eligible residents who are interested in being appointed as the At-Large Representative. The individual appointed to Mr. O’Donnell’s unexpired term shall serve until December 31, 2025, and if interested in continuing to serve, must be elected on November 4, 2025, for a full term of four years.
To be eligible for this position, the applicant must be a resident and qualified elector in the City of Avon Lake. A qualified elector is a person who meets the age and residency requirements required by state law or by local ordinance and must be a registered voter.
The candidate shall not hold any other public office or employment within the municipality and shall not be interested in profits from any job, work, or service for which moneys of the municipality are expended.
Letters of interest and resumes should be submitted by mail or in person to Valerie Rosmarin, Clerk of Council, at 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012, or via email at vrosmarin@avonlake.org no later than noon on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Interviews will be conducted on Thursday, September 19, 2024, and if necessary, Friday, September 20, 2024. The individual selected for the vacancy will be appointed at the Council Meeting on Monday, September 23, 2024.
