Ribbon Cutting at Lake T Apparel on Wednesday, December 7, at 2pm

11/29/2022 – Avon Lake, Ohio: On Wednesday, December 7, at 2:00pm, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at Lake T Apparel, the new business at 150 Lear Rd. in Avon Lake.

Lake T Apparel is a new shop on the northern end of Lear Rd. that sells clothing and apparel celebrating Avon Lake and familiar elements of local life in the community. It will be open Tues-Fri from 10am-3pm, and also by appointments to discuss larger custom orders and opportunities.

The business started when owner Chris Kreitzer re-evaluated his home/life balance during Covid. “We were able to pause and take stock in what was truly important to our family,” says Kreitzer. “Client facing, t-shirt design has always been a passion of mine so it started small as I began working from home full time with a few clients having apparel needs, to fundraising opportunities with our local sports organizations, and finally the realization as we were talking with our friends that this was something our Avon Lake community needed. I have been able to take a passion of mine, involve my family, and give back to our community… it’s a win win. Now we will have Avon Lake and other items in stock for purchase year-round, plus the ability to complete custom orders as well.”

For this business in particular, the draw to Avon Lake is obvious—the City’s name is on many items in the store. But that’s not the only draw. “Avon Lake is a ‘lake community’. This location has the small hometown feel, ability to walk to get ice cream, a slice of pizza, our community thrift store, and even a couple of bars. The actual building is extremely warm and inviting. We want this to be a community store, some place our clients feel like guests in our own home.” And Chris can give a preview of the merchandise. “Lake T will have your obvious Avon Lake gear to support our teams and activities we all go to daily! These will be on-trend and in various children and adult sizes. Something for the whole family! But we also want to pay tribute to our community as well with some of our Lake T apparel, and recently rolled out a Close Quarters tee. Andy Fowkes with AF Photography will have prints available for purchase, Ashley Leber with Palm Beads will have her trendy bracelets, and other local partners. Our apparel will continuously follow the season and trends, keeping inventory and your closets fresh!”

The City of Avon Lake is excited to see a business that celebrates the City, but also yet another ribbon cutting in one of its Focus Areas from the 2019 Comprehensive Land Use Plan. “Lake T Apparel the perfect kind of walkable destination piece that we want for this section of Lear,” says Ted Esborn, Avon Lake’s Community Development Director. “We think the business and building come together beautifully.”
