Avon Lake Fish Cleaning Dedication

07/28/2023 – Tues., August 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. Mayor Greg Zilka will host a dedication
ceremony for the new state-of-the-art Avon Lake Fish Cleaning Station. State, regional, and
local officials along with dignitaries and staff from the Ohio Department of Natural
Resources will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony at the popular Miller Road Park Boat
Launch.

Mayor Zilka shared, “When we first learned Avon Lake was receiving a $580,000 grant to
build the station, I knew it would be another great asset for Avon Lake and the surrounding
communities. It represents a significant investment by the State of Ohio to provide more
opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy all Lake Erie has to offer”.

The cleaning station at Miller Road Park, 33760 Lake Road provides ample counter space for
anglers to cut and filet their fish, running water to clean their catch, and two grinders that
dispose of the remains. The disposal system is considered environmentally friendly, as it
appropriately manages the fish remains.

The facility is open and free to the public. We welcome anyone who would like to attend
the dedication ceremony.
