City of Avon Lake Seeking Human Resources Director

03/11/2024 – Looking to become a leader and work with other professionals in a highly desirable community? The City of Avon Lake is hiring a Human Resources Director. This full-time position reports directly to the Mayor, and will be an integral member of the senior management team. We are looking for a dynamic HR professional that is passionate about serving the residents and the dedicated employees of Avon Lake.

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, plans and programs aligned with the City’s vision, goals and objectives. This position will be located onsite at Avon Lake City Hall.

Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, organizational management, or business administration along with seven to ten years of experience in HR management. Experience working within a unionized environment and governmental setting are preferred.

The salary range is $80,000-$127,000.00 annualized. Medical, vision and dental coverage; Ohio Public Employees Retirement System; paid vacation, holidays, and sick time.
