City of Avon Lake launches its Shop Local—Shop Avon Lake Campaign for 2020
10/30/2020 – Sunday, November 1, will mark the official start of Avon Lake’s annual Shop Local—Shop Avon Lake campaign. This yearly effort began in Avon Lake several years ago as a recognition of the national Small Business Saturday during the weekend after Thanksgiving. But in 2018, Avon Lake stretched the event from one day to a week. And in 2020, Shop Local is less of an “event” and more of a “campaign” as it begins on November 1 and comes to a close on December 18.
The City added a raffle component to Shop Local—Shop Avon Lake last year. Participating shops and restaurants each donated a $50 gift card, which went toward a grand prize of more than $1,700 in Avon Lake shopping and dining. The grand prize winner was Karen Hutman, who got her winning ticket at Salad KraZe.
