Avon Lake Play Space Open House & Survey

10/21/2021 – Avon Lake Play Space Open House & Survey - Wednesday, October 27
Avon Lake Play Space (ALPS) in Bleser Park is going to be replaced with a new playground and the City of Avon Lake is seeking community input. There will be an Open House on Wednesday, October 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Avon Lake Public Library where families can see and vote on their favorite equipment options. “We want to encourage parents to bring their children, so we can build a playground they are excited about,” says Tim Pinchek, Recreation Director.

In November the City will be demolishing ALPS, a community-built play space that is over 27 years old. It is the City’s plan to order the new equipment in December so the first phase will be completed by Memorial Day 2022. Mayor Zilka states, “We encourage Avon Lake residents to be part of the selection process. Please help us determine what equipment is most appealing to you so that you and your friends can have the best experience possible.”.

For those Avon Lake residents who are not able to attend the Open House, a survey is available online at AvonLake.org/ALPS or they can get a paper version at the Avon Lake Library or City Hall.
