City of Avon Lake is seeking a full-time Finance Director.
The Finance Director serves as the chief fiscal officer and contract administrator for the City. This position maintains record of all appropriations and transfers of funds made by Council, advises the Mayor and Council in preparation of estimates, budgets, and appropriations. In addition, the director maintains accurate accounting of all tax assessments, monies due, receipts and disbursements made by the City and Municipal Utilities. Responsibilities also include preparation of documents, including notes for loans or bonds, annual audits, and annual comprehensive financial reports (ACFR).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Administration, including courses in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Economics; and 10 years of satisfactory administrative accounting experience working, including five years of experience in government accounting. The job is non-classified, exempt, and includes comprehensive benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. The salary range $112,985 to $167,897, subject to City Council approval.
