Q: Is there one list I can see with the status of all the services/event in the City?

A: Yes, click here.


Q: Can I call City Hall's main number and be transferred to another department?

A: Yes, City Hall is now open to the public and staffed during normal hours. However, if you would like to call a department directly here are the numbers.

Q: Is the Community Transport van operating?

A: Yes, but please note riders must wear a mask. For more information.


Q: Is the Avon Lake Public Library open?

A: The Avon Lake Public Library is open with limited service available. For current services or more information, visit ALPL.org


Q: Can I have a garage sale?

A: Yes, please practice social distancing.


Q: Is the dog park open?

A: Yes!


Q: Can I play tennis on the city tennis courts?

A: Yes!


Q: Can my children play on the city or school's playground equipment?

A: Yes. The City will sanitize equipment twice a day but we recommend families take personal responsibility based on your level of concern.


Q: Can I still go to the city parks?

A: Yes.


Q: Has trash/recycling/yard waste pickup been impacted?

A: There was a week long interruption of services for bulk and yard waste pickup however, service has resumed as always. Kimble does request that bulk items too large for one person to manage aren't put out at this time. Full explanation of services.


Q: Has branch/brush pickup changed/stopped?

A: Public Works is still continuing their branch/brush routes with the chipper truck. Continue to place branches/brush on the curbside (but separate from trash & recycle containers).


Q: Is the Lorain County Collection Center open?

A: Yes.


Q: Is Simple Recycling providing service at this time?

A: Yes. Please fill-up your Simple Recycling bags and and call 866-835-5068.


Q: Where can I get up-to-date information on COVID-19 (the Coronavirus)?

Q: My driver's license expires soon, will I get a ticket for driving with an expired license?

A: The BMV's frequently ask question's page states they are working on adding an extension period. We would recommend you keep an eye on their website for updates.
